Getting started
The Beer Passport is completely open-ended with unlimited potential. Unlike other programs, the books never expire and retain their potential value forever. Follow this link to get started!
What does it cost to be a partner?
As a business owner, we understand that cost is always important to you. So what does it cost to participate in the Beer Passport? Short answer: almost nothing!
At a minimum, you need a custom stamp to use when Beer Passport holders visit your location. There are many online stores where you can upload an image for your business and they'll send you a custom stamp. Depending on the type, your outlay for the custom stamp is only $20-30.

If you want to sell the physical passport books alongside your other merchandise, we will sell them to you at cost. No, seriously! In bulk, the unit price is around $4 per book. For example, buying 20 books to get started only costs $80. And the mini passports are just pennies per card!
So what's the catch?
No catch! Really! We love craft beer and want to share that love with more people in a fun way. So we don't want to make money with the Beer Passport. We hope the low cost encourages every brewery and taproom to participate and other beer lovers to discover new breweries and delicious brew.
Ideas for partners
What you do with the Beer Passport is completely up to you! But we provide some ideas on pricing and usage to help you get started.
Stamps
For your custom stamp, we recommend a self-inking stamp which are self-contained, easy to store and use, and contain enough ink for thousands of uses. These stamps are small enough that you can keep it next to your point-of-sale terminal.
For example, the Printy 4923 by Trodat is an excellent self-inking stamp for this purpose. We are not partnered with any companies, though, so feel free to use anything you want.
We recommend that your stamp's image contain the following information:
- logo
- name
- location
The location is useful to distinguish between multiple locations — and encourages customers to visit them all! However, it's also useful even if you have a single location to help Beer Passport holders remember their visit in the future.
You can also make stamps for special occassions such as anniversaries, festivals, etc. For example, a custom stamp for guests that take the brewery tour encourages more engagement from your customers.
Note: For best results, avoid large swaths of solid color in your stamp design.
Pricing
If you want to sell the physical books at your location, we recommend a bundle price: $10 for a book, a stamp, and a beer at the time of purchase. You can then promote additional benefits or a loyalty program to encourage return visits.
You can, of course, set your own prices. However, keeping the price low — such as $10 for a book and a beer — allows the customer to feel they are getting a good deal while not losing money on the transaction.
Custom applications
You can use the Beer Passport as a platform to provide a program unique to your location. Instead of printing your own books or cards, your location can print custom stickers or stamps that can be applied to the Beer Passport.
For example, a customer could get every 10th beer free, encouraging repeat visits.

The size and content of your custom application is up to you as long as it fits comfortably on the page. The safe area for the passports are as follows:
Passport | Mini Passport |
---|---|
2 ¾" x 3 ⅓" | 3 ⅛" x 1 ¼" |
